The test can be administered by healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and healthcare workers, and will detect SARS-CoV-2 IgG neutralising antibodies to determine if a person has had the virus.
AbC-19™ Rapid Test uses a small drop of blood from a finger-prick, and shows results in 20 minutes.
The test is available for large scale commercial distribution and use by healthcare professionals.
The AbC-19™ Rapid Test has demonstrated high levels of sensitivity and specificity in a clinical setting. Evaluation studies involving 880 patient samples showed sensitivity of 97.58% (95% confidence level 95.28%-98.95%) and specificity of 99.59% (95% confidence interval 98.53%-99.95%).
